Last spring, Wildwood Church introduced the Front Yard Garden initiative to better connect with the community. Through this grassroots program, members of the community began growing, harvesting and sharing fresh produce with their neighbors.
This year, Wildwood Church is building on that progress by providing classes for anyone in the community to learn about food preservation techniques. Our first class in March had an overwhelming response and was a great success!
Our next class, ‘So Easy to Preserve’ will be held Sunday, April 22nd at 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Wildwood Church. It will be taught by Heidi Copeland of the Leon County Extension Office. Heidi will talk about food preservation and demonstrate the canning process both classroom style and hands-on demonstration.
The cost is $5.00 per person; pre-registration is required by Friday, April 20th. Participants will be provided with handouts and the opportunity to purchase the comprehensive canning guide So Easy to Preserve written by food safety specialists at Cooperative Extension, The University of Georgia, for only $20.00.
Please email your registration or questions to Kathy Adamo at email@example.com or call her at 850-508-1005.
