Today and next week we plunge into the heart of Jesus’ ethic for his church. Today we consider Jesus’ demand that we respond in a totally different way from the world when our dignity, possessions and freedom are attacked. These principles are impossible to live out unless we understand that we are completely accepted by God.
Scriptures: Matthew 5:38-42
Life Application:
Think carefully about how you instinctively respond to having your dignity, possessions or freedom of movement threatened. Jesus honors us by expecting that our reaction will be different from the world. The ability to live like this requires “an entirely different breed of human being”. This new man actually began at our ‘new birth’ in Christ.
