NEXT CANNING CLASS: Friday, June 15th at 9:30am in the Fellowship Hall

Come join our team of ‘community canners’  for our next canning class. You don’t even have to like canning at all…although it helps.

This is an outreach/service for our community and brings in many people who are not from Wildwood, each class. We need more help on this team! We are looking for a few more Wildwoodians to help set up for our classes and who love to talk to people about Jesus. People from our community are coming to us and we have a chance to build relationships with our guests and to plant gospel seeds.

On Sat. March 24th and March 31st, our street teams will be inviting our neighbors in key neighborhoods to our Northside Community Easter BBQ and our Easter Services.

Meet at Wildwood at 9am both Saturdays to receive your briefing, door-hangers, maps and for prayer. Then we will go hit the streets, representing Wildwood and our Lord Jesus.

Most of you have probably heard about the upcoming Northside Community Easter BBQ…and many of you probably remember the fun of last year’s BBQ!

Well, all that fun happens because a lot of hands pitched in to help in a lot of different ways…and this year is no different! We have many different opportunities to serve at the BBQ. You don’t have to serve the whole time…we’ll make sure you have plenty of time to eat, have some fun, and meet some new people!

Helping Hawks Rise Sat. April 14th: Help us love our neighbors!

We have a wonderful opportunity to continue serving Hawks Rise Elementary on Sat. April 14th. This school is a neighbor right in our own backyard.

One way you or your small group can serve them in the name of Jesus, is to join us as we head over to help them set up for their Carnival on April 14th. Meet us at Hawks Rise at 10am to help set up tables, signs, games. This is a great way to put our faith in action and follow Jesus’ example. (Mark 10:45)

Summer is still a few months away, but it’s never too soon to sign up for Summer Camps!

Salt & Light ’12 Camp is for all kids entering 4th-5th grade in Fall ’12.

Our theme this year is “Keeping Cool in a Crazy World”, in which campers will learn about the prophet Elijah. He defended the worship of God over that of Baal; prayed for rain after a long drought; raised the dead; brought fire down from the sky; and was taken up in a whirlwind! Even though Elijah was part of all these really cool things, he still got scared, worried,  and depressed…but God never left him, just like God never leaves us!

The dates for the camp are August 5th – 9th.

Kids will enjoy all kinds of exciting activities, including:

• Water balloons
• Paddle boats
• Hiking
• Crafts
• Night games
• Basketball
• Wacky games…and that’s just the beginning!

The Helping Hands ministry is always in need of people who are willing to cook and/or bake food or help clean for our church family in need of assistance.

The ministry team is divided into teams who take turns helping out when the need arises.

Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before.

That’s the reason for DivorceCare. It’s a series of support groups and seminars facilitated by people who understand what you are experiencing. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.

Children experiencing divorce tell us they feel alone and helpless. Your children may feel scared, sad and confused. They may hide their feelings from you because they are worried about your happiness or because they do not know how to express their feelings appropriately.

Divorce Care 4 Kids (DC4K) is a special group that meets simultaneously with Divorce Care to help your children (5 – 12 years) heal from the pain caused by a separation or divorce. It provides your children with a safe and neutral place to recognize and learn to share their feelings. The weekly session topics help your children learn that God’s love strengthens them and helps them turn their sadness to hope and their anger to joy.

This coming January, Wildwood Church will host new Divorce Care and DC4K classes for individuals and families facing separation or divorce. The 13-week Divorce Care series will be facilitated by Ben and Karen Chandler, while DC4K will be facilitated by Helen Bradford.

Divorce Care and DC4K are non-denominational and feature biblical teaching for recovering from divorce and separation.
