Welcome to a place where faith meets action and word meets deed. In this section of the website you will find opportunities to serve our community alongside ideas of how you can take the initiative and reach out to your neighbors. Wildwood reaches out through connecting with and serving our community but also by serving alongside our Partners.
We are called to love, serve and share the gospel with our neighbors, as followers of Jesus.
These neighbors may be found in our workplace, our neighborhood, our favorite hangout spot, etc. but regardless of where they are located, we are sent to them as ambassadors of Christ. God the Father, sent Jesus, His Son into our world and into our lives. Similarly, Jesus sends us into the world and into the lives of our neighbors.
John 17:18 “As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.”
In what fashion did Jesus go into the world? Simply put; as a servant, which is how we are likewise to live in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and anywhere the Lord places us.
Mark 10:45 ”For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
We do not love our neighbors or share Jesus with them from a place of guilt or a sense of self righteousness. Quite the opposite! We have come to realize that we are messed up people, who fail to love well and who desperately need God’s forgiveness and grace. He has graciously given us love, forgiveness and grace in the person of Jesus Christ.
Thus, we are compelled to love our neighbors and to introduce them to Jesus, so they too can experience the grace of God. In doing this, we join with God in His work of building His Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven. This is simply part of what normative Christianity looks like.
